SIKH YATRA

Sikhism is the world’s fifth largest religion. And is one of the younger faiths of the world, as compared with religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity or Islam. It is a monotheistic faith, preaching the existence of only one God, and teaching ideals that may be universally accepted today and in the future.

Pakistan being geo-strategic state is also important for religious tourism, especially with respect to world’s fifth religion, Sikhism. Sikh Religion was founded and then flourished in Punjab of sub-continent, which is now the largest part of Present Pakistan.

GURDWARAS IN PAKISTAN

A Gurdwara means ‘The gateway to The Guru’. It is a ritual place for Sikhs worship. Everyone within Sikh Religion or other than Sikhism are warmly welcomed and allowed to visit Gurdwaras. The Gurdwara has a Durbar Sahib where the current and everlasting Guru of the Sikhs, the Holy Scripture Guru Granth Sahib is placed on an elevated throne called Takhat in a prominent central position. The Raagis (who sings Ragas) recites sings and explain the verses from the Guru Granth Sahib, in the presence of the holy congregation.

Pakistan considered to be the hub of Sikhism, because of the fact that South to North and East to West of country; all four provinces have important Historic Gurdwaras and Ritual Places which is why Yatrees from all over the globe look towards Pakistan.

Pakistan is lucky to have rich Sikh heritage and out-number of most sacred and historical Gurdwaras of the sub-continent. There are so many Gurdwaras and other Sikh historical places to see in Pakistan that one need quite a long tour to visit all of them.
